This is about how I installed my Soundgraph iMon VFD in my Tsunami PC case.
The display came with a remote control:
The challenge was that my PC case hasn't got a sencond 5 1/4" bay.
A solution has been suggested in the forum and it was just on special at the German supermarket ALDI for $25 (Australian).
It's quite easy to remove the plastic front. There are some cables attached to that cover. Before I detached them I took some notes.
Unscrewed the metal frame at the back of the display and used a piece of paper to create a template. Then drilled the holes to allow the front of the display to be mounted from outside.
Then I had to get the connections through the metal case. Luckily, the two left connections fitted exactly through an existing hole. I had to cut a hole for the right connector. In order not to mess up my PC, I stuck a small paper bag behind the marked position.
Then the dirty work could be started. Just after cutting the 3rd line that rotating piece splitted. So, I decided to bend the metal to make the hole.
The display was simply fasted behind the plastic cover.
This is how it looks like when the work has completed.
